ABOUT LOVEMANIAC: SCARLET LUST
LoveManiac: Scarlet Lust is a pixel-art bullet battle game made by Team Nebula and Wavis ;P, built explicitly in the mould of Undertale. The framing is familiar on purpose: you are not being chased, you are having a fight, and you decide how to have it.
The core tension is the one Undertale built its reputation on — you can attack, dodge and take damage, or you can talk and try to end things. Scarlet is the opponent you have to figure out before you can work out which approach is even going to work.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Combat is real-time bullet-dodging in a turn-based shell, so the moment-to-moment play is about reading attack patterns and positioning rather than about menus. The pixel presentation is deliberately retro and works well at a small resolution.
This is the one arcade-battle title in the collection, which makes it the fastest to pick up and the hardest to put down. It is also the most explicitly adults-only of the group.
