A Date with Death is a supernatural chat romance by HoruBrain, told entirely through a messaging interface. You never meet the person on the other end face to face at the start — a mysterious visitor simply starts appearing on your computer.
The whole story takes place across a single strange week. That is the entire structure: seven days of messages, and the sum of what you say and what you ignore across them is what determines how the story ends.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Because it is a chat-format visual novel, the reading experience is unusually fast and continuous. There is no exploration, no inventory and no combat. You read, you reply or you do not, and the other person reacts to which one you chose.
The supernatural premise means the tone shifts underneath you. Early messages read like an ordinary chat, and the horror arrives through small inconsistencies you only notice in retrospect. Replaying after a full read is genuinely rewarding because the earlier messages change meaning.
