PRISONERS
You wake up in an unfamiliar room with a stranger. Every three days, one of you is supposed to leave — the other, executed. Pair up, betray, or fall for each other across 30k words and seven branching endings.

ABOUT PRISONERS
Prisoners is a psychological horror visual novel by HoruBrain built around a single unwinnable rule: you and one other person are locked in the same room, and every three days exactly one of you is allowed to leave. The other is executed.
The story runs to roughly 30,000 words and resolves into seven different endings. The word count matters because Prisoners is played by reading and talking rather than by navigating a world — the tension comes out of what you say to the person locked in the room with you, and what they say back.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Almost all of your control is dialogue. You choose what to say to the other prisoner, and the game tracks how the relationship between you two develops across the three-day cycles. Trust, dependency, resentment and affection are all on the table, and the ending you land on follows from the pattern of those choices.
Multiple playthroughs are the point. Seven endings means the same opening scene can turn very differently depending on who you decide to be on day one. If a first run does not give you the ending you wanted, the fastest route to a different one is replaying and answering differently.
Because the subject matter is execution, captivity and coercive relationships, Prisoners is an adults-only title and the tone is deliberately uncomfortable. That discomfort is the point rather than something to route around.

PRISONERS FAQ
- How many endings does Prisoners have?Seven branching endings. They are reached by changing how you respond to the other prisoner across the three-day cycles rather than by finding hidden items, so replays mean answering the same early scenes differently.
- Is Prisoners free to play in the browser?Yes. The full visual novel runs inside the player on this page. There is no download, no account and no installation. Your progress is stored by the browser you are using, so stay on the same browser and profile if you want to resume.
- How long does Prisoners take to finish? The story is around 30,000 words, which is roughly an hour to two hours for a first playthrough at reading speed. Reaching all seven endings takes considerably longer because most of that time is spent replaying the opening.
- What kind of game is Prisoners?A psychological horror and science fiction visual novel with a text-first structure. There is no real-time combat or exploration — you progress by reading dialogue and making choices.
- Is this an official Prisoners website? No. This is an unofficial browser portal maintained separately from the creator. Prisoners and its characters are the property of HoruBrain.
